Nico Smeenk studies Industrial Design with Wim Crouwel at the "Technische Universiteit" of Delft in Holland. In 1985 he starts the collaboration with the studio of Andries & Hiroko Van Onck designing products for: Zanussi/Electrolux, Kartell, Magis, Pantec, Amplivox. As Senior Designer in Design Continuum he works for Boehringer Mannheim, Siel, Hamilton.
In 1998, after being R&D Manager for Girmi, he starts designing products with his own studio, for a wide number of clients: SBS, Acea Manodomestici, Eclettis, Aci Farfisa, Indecasa, Falmec, CLA Hospital, Cefla. He is design lecturer at the "Istituto Europeo di Design" in Milan.
