ACI Farfisa's brief, the request for a high end, innovative video intercom, standing out from existing products, was interpreted by Nico Smeenk with a very communicative design. Through elegant semantic references to modern consumer electronics products, it almost implores the user to interact with it, push it's buttons, tilt the video screen, listen to it's loudspeaker.

This visual emphasis on the user interface was very much appreciated by the public: a commercial success.
